- LaDre was born with Cerebral Palsy and other motor disabilities.
- He was placed for adoption shortly after birth.
- He is the oldest of four in his adoptive family.
LaDre moved to Florida with his adoptive family about seven years ago. Frustrated with poor outcomes and lack of support in the public school, his family pursued other options and discovered CECO. Since attending CECO, LaDre has learned how to use his communication device, take independent steps on his own and eat independently. Due to staggering medical bills and expenses associated with raising four children, two with special needs, attending CECO would not be a possibility, for LaDre, without the scholarship program offered at CECO. Without it, LaDre would more than likely be placed in a state funded residential home---away from his family and friends.
